5 tips for long hair: How to grow your hair longer and more beautiful

Long and beautiful hair - that's what we women dream of. Do you know the movie scenes where long hair in slow motion in gentle waves down the back and give you the ultimate feeling of femininity and beauty? That's exactly what we want, right?

Unfortunately, the reality often looks different. Most women regularly feel the desire to change - from long hair to short hairstyle. From natural hair color to hair dye.

Once your hair is a bit longer, you have it cut shorter again. These changes feel so liberating and are also really good for us women, aren't they

This desire for change is for some women but also a must! A must so that the hair looks healthy and beautiful. After all, very few women are blessed with a strong mane of hair and suffer from split ends and hair loss.

How can you let the hair grow long, if the hair must be constantly cut off?

In my Long Hair Guide today I tell you how you can grow your hair faster and how you can achieve great results with small changes in your hair routine without having to constantly cut your hair.

1. Wash your hair right - less is more

Frequent hair washing can put a strain on both your hair and your scalp. That's why, regardless of your desire for a long mane, I recommend you only wash your hair when it's really necessary. Ideal would be 1-2 times a week.

Attention: This change will find your hair at the beginning not at all good. Your hair is used to being cleaned and cared for much more often and will not always look super fresh in this initial phase.

The good: Your perseverance will be rewarded! Once you've done it, your hair will (in most cases) look a lot shinier and healthier right away. Did you know that you can also "train" your scalp not to become greasy so quickly?

My little tip: Use a dry shampoo in the hold-out phase and mild care products without sulfates and silicones. So your hair stays fresh longer and is not weighed down. I can recommend you these two products:

2. Use a hair treatment - wellness for your hair

I used to think that my hair could do without a hair conditioner. In the meantime, I was proven wrong, which is why I treat my hair to an intensive hair treatment 1-2 times/week

I love it after the normal hair cleaning to apply the hair mask and let it soak in. In those 5 minutes, I enjoy the hot shower on my back and relax.

My hair immediately feels softer, shiny and looks fresher.

Since I have been using silicone-free shampoos for over three years I have also made sure here that the hair treatment is without silicones. By the way, hair treatments help your hair grow stronger and longer. Most hair masks contain namely additives that strengthen the hair and make it healthier.

3. No towel? - but microfiber!

After washing your hair, wring out the wet hair fix wrapped in a towel turban and do other things. When wringing out, be careful not to break your hair in the long run - don't scrub your hair dry like crazy.

When your hair is wet, it's most fragile and breaks more easily.

Before you tie your hair up, it is enough if you press them very gently into the towel and then fix them with a loose bunch. They really only get drier after 5-10 minutes in the towel anyway.

So the towel is also crucial. The softer your towel is, the more pleasant and healthier your hair dries. I can recommend you a special microfiber towel or an old cotton T-shirt.

The surface is much softer with these two than with a normal towel. Plus, microfiber towels are super comfortable to wear as turbans, hold up better, and dry faster.

4. blow dry your hair - never go to sleep with wet hair

Do you wash your hair in the evening too? It's so much more relaxing and often you combine the hair wash day right with a beauty day + face mask and fresh nail polish. Before you go to sleep or lie down on the sofa, you should definitely (an)dry your hair.

The wetter your hair is, the more sensitive and susceptible it is to split ends. Split ends are in 90% of cases the reason that your hair does not manage to grow longer. And you wanted to grow a long mane of hair!

You should also pay attention to a few things when blow-drying. Do not hold the hair dryer too close to your hair, otherwise it will be too hot! It's best to blow-dry only on a medium setting. Your hair will not dry faster just because it gets hotter. A special secret tip is my round brush with hairdryer.

Backstory: After every haircut, the hairdresser would blow dry my hair with a round brush. It always looked so nice that I wanted to try it at home.

In one hand the hairdryer, in the other the round brush. No matter how I tried it, I was always missing a hand. After some research, I found a round brush with a hair dryer. It worked! Since then, I blow dry my hair at home so nice and round. They fall much softer and more pleasant than with the normal hairdryer, which is why I can recommend this device to everyone.

So if you want to grow your hair longer, you should consider the following things:

  1. Don't go to sleep with wet hair
  2. Don't brush your wet hair too hard
  3. and rather blow dry it with not too much heat
